Survivor Tournament

The Survivor Tournament will begin on May 17th. This is an additional tournament that will add competition to our regular bowling. Please note that this tournament is ongoing throughout the season as an additional side-game and has nothing to do with the regular season bowling.

At the beginning of week four, the 10 teams with the most total handicap pins will have qualified for the tournament.

Every week thereafter, the team bowling the lowest handicap series will be eliminated from the tournament. For example, in week five, there will be 9 teams remaining. After the scores are tallied for the evening, the team shooting the worst handicap set (total handicap pins for the evening) will be scratched from the tournament and the other 8 teams will continue to week six. Should 2 teams share the lowest score for the night, the team with the lowest total handicap pins to date will be eliminated. If any team still active in the Survivor Tournament is absent, they are automatically eliminated and the rest of the teams progress to the following week.

On week twelve, the 2 surviving teams will play for the total prize, which will vary based on league participation next session. This will be announced during the first three weeks of play. Updates will be posted at the front counter every Monday before practice begins, and of course here, under the standings section.

Of all the teams in the league, only 10 will make it into the tournament. This requires everyone to be in attendance as well as on top of his/her game for the first few weeks. The next season will begin April 26th, 2010. Sign up quickly before your spot gets taken.
